Shalyn French Bulldogs, owned by
Shannon & Howie English, is a small, hobby kennel located just
outside of Halifax Nova Scotia, Canada.
Our goal is to
produce healthy, sound Frenchies that excel in breed type, make
wonderful family companions and are the epitome of what a French
Bulldog should be.
We are very active in the sport of purebred dogs and extremely proud of the success we have had with our French Bulldogs. One of the things that is particularly special to us is that our dogs are always Breeder, Owner-Handled. While Howie fills his role comfortably as the Frenchie-lover extraordinaire, Shannon has owner-handled our own dogs to Multiple Best In Shows, Multiple Best Puppy In Shows, Group wins and placements. She has also shown French Bulldogs for other fanciers to championships, multiple puppy wins, group wins and placements. Shannon is a member in good standing of the Canadian Kennel Club and The Halifax Kennel Club. We are also involved in Frenchie Rescue, as we feel all breeders need to do their part in rescue.
French Bulldogs are our love not our living. We breed to improve the breed and only when we want something for our own program. We generally produce only one or two litters per year. As such, we have puppies available occasionally to appropriately screened and approved companion homes.
We feel that breeding French Bulldogs is an honour and a
privilege and, as dedicated breeders and lovers of this unique
breed, we stress the importance of health testing. All of our
dogs are properly health tested before they are bred to ensure
that we produce only sound healthy French Bulldogs. All of our
puppies are raised in our home underfoot to ensure they are
exposed to the goings on of our life and to ensure that they are
correctly socialized.
Our relationship with our new puppy owners does not end when the
puppy goes to their new home. We are always available to offer
support, encouragement or advice if needed. We strongly believe
that we have a responsibility to puppies we produce for their
entire lifetime.
