************************************************************************

Congrats again to our boy Wilson for another 2 Group 1sts on the weekend.  Wilson also picked up a Reserve Best in Show under Judge Jael Morrison from South Africa.  That makes four Group 1st placements in the last four shows and puts Wilson in a considerable lead for his second year as #1 Lab in Canada.   Lola and Shelby also earned their Temperament Tests on the weekend.

Happy Birthday to our knucklehead Saxon who turns 2 tomorrow!!!

Congratulations once again to our boy Wilson for some great wins on the weekend in Miramichi.  Wilson picked up a Group 3rd under Judge Michel Bouchard, and a Group 1st win under both Doug and Avery Gaudin.  Wilson will now enjoy a couple of weeks off to relax, swim, play and enjoy some downtime before we get back at it.

Congrats to Hunter who picked up the final legs of his first Obedience title.  He has now earned a Pcd.  Way to go!!!

Wilson and I ventured to Quebec this weekend to attend the shows in Laval.  We enjoyed a wonderful weekend in a great facility and managed 2 Best of Breed wins and then a Best of Breed and a wonderful Group 1st win under Judge Patricia Cruz.

Wilson had another wonderful weekend at the Pictou Kennel Club shows.  He picked up an awesome Group 1st under Judge David Eadie, two Group 2nd placements under Judge Judith Hunt and David Patterson and a Group 4th placement under Judge David Patterson.  This certainly helps in his total points for Top Labrador in Canada 2008 and keeps him in #1 position.

Also competing for her first time ever in junior handling (she is finally old enough) is Alex (daughter of Chris & Tory Harvey) with our sweet boy Wilson.  An easy dog to handle it made her first time in the ring an enjoyable and most memorable experience.  She certainly handled him with loving care.  Way to go Alex!!!

Wilson and Henry headed up to Cape Breton to take in 3 of the 4 shows there this past weekend.  Under Judge David Patterson he picked up a BOB win and under Judge Polly Smith (USA) he picked up a BOB, Group 1st and a wonderful Best in Show win!!!  Way to go guys that makes #7 in total and the 2nd one this year.

First show of the Year

Our first show of the year in the Maritimes proved to be an overall success.  On Saturday, Olivia and I hit the ring and came out victorious with a Winners Female and Best Puppy in Breed win.  She showed like a pro and I am going to have some fun this year with her.

The boys proved to be the big winners this weekend.  Goro Chan and Yukiko hit the Rally Obedience ring for their first time this weekend.  This team did an awesome job and came up with a Rally Novice title having passed 3 legs under two different Judges.  Huge congrats to both of them for a job well done!!!  Goro also took 4th in his big Novice A class on Sunday.  We are all so proud of you. J  Goro is the first one of our breeding in a pet home to get a title other than conformation!!!

The other boys also did great on Sunday.  Wilson took a Group 2nd under Judge Donald Emslie and Daniel and young Oliver (Madabout’s All Over the Paige) took Best of Winners and a nice Best Puppy in Breed win.

My Heart Dog is 6th years old today…..Happy Birthday Huey!!

*************************************************************

Well it’s the beginning of a new year.  We are looking forward to another busy year, hoping to take in a few more specialties and to travel to a couple of different shows that we normally wouldn’t get to.  I’ve had Henry busy renovating our new “dog room” in the basement in hopes that he’ll get it finished before show season really starts up.

In the first trip of the year, Henry and Wilson ventured to Ontario to attend the shows in London.  It was a trip to see how Wilson would fly (as he has never flown before) more than anything.  Of course, he did much better then I did worrying about him the whole way there!!!  It also gave Henry a chance to visit with some friends and family.  They started off a little rusty from a long layoff and it wasn’t until Sunday when they finally picked up their first Best of Breed win under Judge Anik Primeau.  They did make the cut in the Group ring but came up short handed.  Henry received some wonderful comments from many people on Wilson.  Many were pleased that he was just as nice “in person” as he was in pictures.  Thanks to everyone for your wonderful comments!!!

At home, Olivia (Madabout’s Front Paige News), Westin (register name still to be decided) and I attended the CSSA sanction match at Fetch Inc.  It was Westin’s first time in the ring and he showed like a pro.  Boy it must be in the genes…of course he is our beautiful boy from Wilson x Sophie!  Olivia took the Breed and then went on to a nice Group 1st win.  We stayed around for the afternoon helping, watching and visiting with friends waiting for Best in Match.  We didn’t come home with the big ribbon but Shelby Marling did a great job handling Olivia all the way.  Thanks Shelby!!!
