Am/Can Ch. Legacy Just My Type
Breeder: Eileen Olmstead, DVM & Sara Cebulski
Owner: Doug Fisher
At the beginning of 2007 I began looking for a new female to add to my breeding program as Abby was getting close to having her last litters and I still hadn’t received from her a quality female with which to continue my breeding program. I contacted a few breeders who had the bloodlines of the dogs I liked and wanted added into my breeding program.
As luck would have it Eileen Olmstead, DVM of Legacy Smooth Fox Terriers
responded to me that she indeed did have a female that was bred by herself and Sara Cebulski of Alaska that she might be able to offer me. Juliet was a Norman daughter out of a Jetta daughter so the pedigree was exactly what I was looking for and Eileen finally decided to let me purchase Juliet. Juliet came to Canada in April of 2007, a birthday present to me from myself, and has been a wonderful addition to the Smooth Fox Terriers here at Kaltoba.
Thanks to Eileen Juliet arrived in Canada with 12 points and both majors to her US Championship. After getting used to life in Canada Juliet went to a couple of shows with handler Yvonne Norton to get her Canadian show legs in the summer of 2007. Her first show, Canada’s largest outdoor show, the Alberta Kennel Club’s summer show she was the only Smooth Fox Terrier entered as Smooth’s are a fairly rare breed in Canada and was pulled for Group but never placed. Same happened at the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Dog Association shows in Ontario.
In September she headed to Montana for a couple of US shows with handler Raymond Yurick and was able to pick up another US point. So we waited till the October shows of Canada’s largest
indoor show, the Lower Mainland Dog Fanicers of BC, hoping there would be some competition in the breed ring for Smooth Fox Terriers. We were rewarded in that there was competition and Juliet was able to complete her Canadian Championship in one show weekend
In January of 2008, Juliet ventured south of the border to the Puyallup Cluster of shows in Puyallup, Washington. We were once again rewarded when Juliet, under the expert guidance of Heidi Gervais, picked up the required points and completed her US Championship, becoming the first dog at Kaltoba to hold both an American and Canadian Championship title.
We are going to be moving on to Earthdog, Agility and Obedience with a few stops in the show ring and hopefully in the whelping box. We are very glad Eileen allowed Juliet to come to Canada and we feel she will be a great addition here at Kaltoba, now if only we can get her to stop digging up the yard!!
