Field trial training is available for Derby (USA)-Junior (Canada) to Open All-age retrievers.

The Field Trial training program follows the following sequence:

• Basics
• Transition
• Advanced

The time required to advance through the various stages of training varies greatly between individual retrievers.  Generally,  at the mid way point in the the Basics stage sufficient information will be available to provide an overall assessment of how much effort will be required and the rate of progress you can expect in future training.
