Glenda grew up as a “dog crazy” kid with a Smooth Fox Terrier, Sandy. With Sandy she won several first places (classes in obedience, tricks, etc) and a best in show at “kids” dog shows in the early 80’s. She also groomed and walked several of the neighborhood dogs. Kevin had several breeds of dogs growing up including german shepherds, a Doberman and many mixed breeds. Our experience with the Belgian malinois began in 1996, when we brought Jazz home as a puppy. With Jazz we dabbled in schutzhund, agility, CKC obedience and herding.

Prior to this, we planned on having German shepherds, but fell in love with the malinois the first time we saw one working at a US border crossing in the early 90’s. Later that year we were introduced to three more malinois (Crocs-Blancs lines) that happened to live near us. This cemented our love of the breed and our decision to bring one into our lives. Well, that one has now turned into three!

We are active members of the Fundy Schutzhund Club. Kevin is currently training and trialing Axel and plans to compete at the Regional and National level in schutzhund. Kevin has trained Axel from a pup to the schutzhund three level. Glenda is currently training Luca and plans to compete at a National level with him. Glenda has trained Luca from a pup to the schutzhund three level. We also plan to try ringsport, CKC obedience, agility,and CKC tracking with the dogs.

Over the years we have attended many seminars and training weekends. These include: Ivan Balabanov, Wilfred Luneburg, Raino Fluegge, Darin Clarke, Dirk Stocks, Elmar Mannes, Doug Deacon, Lance Collins, Hank Deboer, Joanne Plumb, Rick Kemner, Operant Conditioning with Heather Logan, Coaching the Canine Athlete with Chris Zink, Dog Aggression with Cheryl Smith, Canine Structure in Relation to Movement with Betty McHugh, Canine Reproduction, Whelping and Puppy intensive Care with Myra Harris-Savant, Obedience Ring Stewarding and Rules, Canine Nutrition, Homeopathy and Acupuncture, many helper and tracklaying seminars, etc…

We are both members of the Working Belgian Shepherd Dog Club of Canada, American Working Malinois Association, Belgian Shepherd Dog Club of Canada, German Shepherd Schutzhund Club of Canada. Glenda is also a member of the American Belgian Malinois Club, the Canadian Kennel Club, and Schutzhund USA.

We are both certified tracklayers with the GSSCC, and Glenda is a GSSCC certified trial secretary, treasurer for the Atlantic section of the BSDCC and the Maritime Director for the Working Belgian Shepherd Dog Club of Canada. Previous positions held were secretary/treasurer for Fundy Schutzhund Club and secretary for the Atlantic section of the Belgian Shepherd Dog Club of Canada.

Outside of our busy dog lives, Kevin, a pipefitter by trade is a Construction Supervisor of major projects at the local oil refinery. Kevin also keeps busy playing lead guitar and singing in the band Downtime. Glenda has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology and a diploma in Medical Laboratory Science and works as a laboratory technologist in the Haematology lab at the local hospital. She also completed a veterinary assistant course. In her spare time, Glenda dabbles in photography (mostly dogs of course).

We are located in the province of New Brunswick, Canada. Our house and kennel are situated on approximately 8 acres.
